Beginning in Fall 2024, there will be a new Curriculum for the Exercise Science major. This change will affect any student who declares in the Fall 2024 semester or later. For those of you who declared before Fall 2024, you will still follow the old Curriculum (this change does not apply for you). When you log in to your Degree Navigator account, you will see the appropriate curriculum you should be following based on when you declared (before vs. after Fall 2024). For those who have not declared yet, you have 1 opportunity left to declare before being placed into the new curriculum. We will hold a final declaration meeting July 28th.  Registration closes July 27th at 9:00pm

Welcome to the Department of Kinesiology and Health at Rutgers University.  We invite you to visit our site and learn more about our department and the opportunities we offer.

Through teaching and cutting-edge research, our students specialize in one of two academic areas: Exercise Science and Sport Management. Our program in Exercise Science educates students in the life sciences for careers in a variety of areas including medicine, physical and occupational therapy, athletic training, and exercise physiology. The program in Sport Management prepares our students for careers in the world of sports business including marketers, athletic directors, and facility managers.

Our Department offers graduate studies in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology and in Global Sports Business.  Finally, it is the home of many specialized centers, focusing on the health and well-being of people of all ages.
